Surbiton style for a sixtieth birthday with Animation in Surrey
It's not every day you turn sixty, but, on the day that you do, what can really make it special is seeing the best moments from those six decades played out, larger and brighter than life, across the front of the piano that's leading your friends, family, and work colleagues through the sounds of your celebration.
That special touch was exactly what Animation, the latest addition to Adam Chandler's talented stable of events entertainment, were able to do for Hope, who seemed much younger than the age she was celebrating.
Hope was one of the first people to see Animation perform – her work's Christmas party was actually our second engagement as a band! She approached us straight afterwards, and asked if we had any availability for her landmark night on the tiles – which we were happy to confirm we definitely did!
Glenmore House is an impressive building, and certainly a match for Hope, who had organised everything to the last detail, creating a stylish, bold venue, with a list of songs chosen from across the range of musical genres, that Animation very much looked forward to performing.
When it came down to the display on the front of Animation's LED-lit piano? Hope let her son and daughter choose the images that would commemorate her sixty years – because “I have to have something to surprise me, don't I?” That quote is the essence of the Hope that Adam and Animaltion met – a lovely, lively lady who very much deserves to have many more birthdays ahead of her.
Hope:"I have to admit, I'm something of a control freak – I find it very hard to trust other people to organise anything, and I had a very clear idea of what I wanted for my sixtieth; elegance, style, but nothing too fusty and dull. I'm Carribean by descent, so there had to be some nice, bright colours and good tunes in amongst the classic Britishness I've always liked. If I'd left that to others to organise, I'm almost certain they would have ruined it!
Animation were wonderful when the company I work for had their Christmas party, and I absolutely loved the piano, with its lit up display. My children would have just grumbled if I'd organised everything, and seeing the display they created made for a truly magical surpise, and a very happy birthday."
