Style comes home with Musical Orphans

Grand, imposing, elegant. Hertfordshire's Moor Park Golf Club is certainly a venue to live up to, and it was here that Donovan and Alex chose to celebrate the start of their new life together, with an open brief, for everyone involved in their lavish, no-expense-spared wedding, that read simply; “Make it look like money absolutely is everything, but like it doesn't matter, either.”

Tough gig? You bet, but Musical Orphans, under the capable guidance of talented professional Adam Chandler, took the challenge in their stride, echoing the deep, rich, classical elegance of the venue with a medley that blended soulful songs about money – its presence, its lack, its troubles, its triumphs – with evocative classical numbers, and innovative, on-the-spot compositions that set Donovan and Alex's special day apart, making it truly unique, and wholly theirs.

Reflecting the theme of richness and extravagance, Adam chose to present himself and the musicians of Musical Orphans in sumptuous purple velvet and gold silk, a look that perfectly complemented the jewel tones many of the guests had chosen, as well as the bride and groom's choice of cobalt and silver.

Playing through a lavish buffet, and leading the wedding party in a formal dance, Musical Orphans made the most of their wide-ranging brief, creating a multi-layered experience that blended wealth of talent with depth of experience, from start to finish.

Alex: "Donovan and I had chosen Moor Park precisely because it looks something like a millionaire's mansion, but with taste. We're not millionaires, not even close, but we do like the finer things in life, and we decided that, as a wedding is the ultimate realisation of personal dreams, it would be wholly appropriate to have an evening celebration that was as lavish, rich, and tastefully decadent as possible.
