Long light shows at Longstowe Hall with We Light It Up

Possibly one of Cambridgeshire's most stunningly romantic venues, We Light It Up were definitely wowed when we arrived, shortly before 7am, for a full day of music and magic, beginning with a soft saxophone serenade for the bridal party. Taking up positions outside the bride's room, a lone saxophone played soft jazz music, rousing bride Grace from her slumbers, ready for the big day that lay ahead.

Reveille duties completed, members of We Light It Up formed a blues quartet in the hotel's dining room, ready to liven things up for the wedding breakfast, while a vocal duet waited in the Rose Ball Room, ready for Grace to receive her guests, and her husband, Daniel, for the romantic wedding ceremony that had been almost a year in the planning, and, from the glimpse we'd had coming down, was decked out in every shade and style of rose imaginable, a stunning setting for what was planned to be a low-key, but deeply intimate, ceremony.

With an afternoon break while bride and groom mingled with friends, family, and colleagues over a buffet lunch, We Light It Up, flushed with the success of the wedding morning, prepared for an evening of lively, dance-along contemporary swing and soul, with a bright, vibrant pulse provided by our impressive LED drum kit.

Daniel and Grace had explained, at Adam's first meeting with them, that they wanted a “disco with style”, and we'd really gone the extra mile to pull together a play list that didn't just fit the bill, but would stand out in the hearts and minds of the couple and their guests for years to come.

Grace: "I couldn't have been happier with We Light It Up – I'd been worried about not hearing the saxophone wake up call, but, fortunately, I did, and the rest of the day went as perfectly as the morning had promised.

I was absolutely blown away by the evening disco; I'd known that we were asking a lot with our particularly unique idea, but Adam Chandler and We Light It Up pulled it off brilliantly, and I'd happily recommend them to anyone else with quirky ideas."
