Raising the roof with Musical Orphans at The Barns, Bedfordshire

When you get two DJs getting married, you know you need to give a good account of yourself, and that was the challenge facing Musical Orphans as we took up the mantle of making Bridie and Corey's big day something to remember for all the right reasons.

The happy couple had chosen Musical Orphans in the hope of addressing their widely differing musical tastes, which ranged from neo-classical to hip hop! Hitting the right note was definitely going to be a challenge, but, as always, we were more than ready to rise to the occasion, and, after a lot of thought, we had an eclectic playlist which, despite the range of influences, flowed in a logical sequence, from subtle opening numbers that were perfect for Corey and Bridie's First Dance, increasingly gaining in speed and impact, right up to the final dance, an all-out bombast of pop tune medleys that got all two hundred guests up and dancing, with the revelry going on long into the night.

We had a lot of pressure, a lot of attention on us from people who'd know if we got it wrong, but, as always, we pulled it off in style, and had a lot of fun along the way. Watching as Bridie, in an ice-blue gown, swirled around the floor in the arms of her new husband, stylishly dashing in a pale mauve suit with a grey silk shirt, we knew, watching them and their guests move, that we'd got it right, and fantastically so.
