A traditional time gets a swinging modern twist

Christmas can be a bit... cliched, especially when it comes to the office party, with the same seasonal number ones being belted out year after year. But, really, Christmas should be a time for you to do something different, and create a style all your own, making memories that will last well into spring.

And that's just what Adam Chandler's modern swing band did for one office Christmas party, held under the vaulted ceilings and deep, rich, traditional fabric of Kent's Penshurst Place, where timeless elegance, suitably decked for the festive season, was given a light and lively uplift, with old favourites and new takes blending perfectly as the swing band got everyone moving, and set the tone for a Christmas party with a difference.

Christmas should be a time for thinking new thoughts, dreaming new dreams, and enjoying the energy and enthusiasm of looking forward to the years ahead – and that was exactly what a good, hefty kick of contemporary swing sounds helped it to be on this occasion.

Starting light and low, the band played softly as the guests arrived and mingled, mince pies and mulled wine in hand, then slowly began to ramp things up as the evening progressed, keeping everyone dancing and laughing until the midnight chimes rang out, when the tempo dropped to meet the temperature, and high spirits were played softly home.

Seaon's greetings, and Christmas cheer, all brought bang up to date thanks to the musical talents of Adam Chandler's modern swing band, looking lively as they played in their home county.

Christmas doesn't have to be classic, but, with music from Adam Chandler, it's always guaranteed to be stylish.
